Hi Joel,

It's 11pm here, and I don't have much time now, but I'm having a quick 
look, when it's starting the VMware Tools services it's panicking when 
starting Guest memory manager, it seems:

    Guest memory manager:panic: malloc_init: bad malloc type magic
cpuid = 1
Uptime: 1m43s
Physical memory: 499 MB
Dumping 61 MB: 46 30 14
Dump complete
Automatic reboot in 15 seconds ... etc

So now it's just cycling, which i'm stopping now, I suppose going for 
single usermode and disabling vmware tools guest memory manager would be 
the best step thing to do now.

In single user mode now, running fsck so I can mount it RW.. takes some 
time..
