Jim: Intro. Ray has asked us to run the net.
Circuits: Surfnet--update in email.
Classic facility--MDF to IDF, at least 4 jacks per room. Jacks on columns.
Fiber multimode. Conv. center personnel cooperative.
Connected hotel--state of net to rooms needs updating.
Team: Jim, Joel, Lucy, Wej, Karen, Chris, plus Hans and Rob, two from
RIPE and the Tsinghua Univ folks.
Volunteer needs:
Shipping: Coordinate with AMS/Alexa and Verilan
Equip: Lost 8-port switch in Anaheim. Allison has left Swisscom.
Should we replace it?
- Wait on site visit and detailed layout to see if we need to replace.
- Routers? Ask Juniper? There may be loaners in Euro already. Yes-ask Juniper.
- Waiting on Surfnet for interfaces needed on Junipers
- Don't need to ship 7200s--Ripe can provide backup if it's an issue
Support: Jim--hotel/flight
Chris--full ride
Karen, Lucy, Joel--nothing needed
Hans--full ride
wej--need room covered, has reservation
Rob--?
Kit: Needed: Ethernet jumpers, gaff tape $300 in rainbow of colors.
Ship printers or rent? Joel--just buy two printers and give away at
end. Need list of odds and ends: cable ties, etc.
*--Printers open issue. Talk to RIPE
Paying for rooms and travel for RIPE? Jim to ask RIPE and note Ray.
Security for terminal room. Cost? Do we take care of it? Ed note: I
think AMS takes care of this.
Beer storage.
First week of July for shipping.
Do we ship everything--probably yes. Wait for site visit/prelim design.
Site visit: ? Budget item?
Lucy or Joel to poke Geert Jan de Groot about doing site visit. Or get RIPE.
Servers: RIPE to supply servers to host our VM's.
Send travel info to list.
Using AS 290, 2001:df8/32, Joel offered a /36, but probably not needed.
Close on getting IETF dedicated space, waiting on Ray.
Chris to look at Cisco firmware versions for switches and AP's.
Management VM: Get VM spun up. Topology layout desired. Port upgrades.
Trac, etc. Chris has VM's lightly used in Anaheim. RIPE may be able to
setup the servers soon. Jim to ask RIPE.
Regular meeting time: Mondays? Jim to setup doodle. Mondays at 12pm
Eastern unless folks object strongly.
Time may not work for China...need to prioritize time for us and RIPE.
