Sorry for randomly slapping info on the mailing list; can only
webify tonight and Chris and Jim want it sooner.
- There is a fiber connection between SER1 and SER7. It runs via SER4.
- It's 62.5 micron, multimode, SC connectors.
- There are no free fiber pairs, but Roger can free up one pair for us.
(the rest is used by the MECC office network and cannot be made available
to us)
So, if we want to connect the Euro Centre, we'll have:
- It is do-able, with restrictions
- Access to SER7 (and SER4) is not 24x7 as with the other SERs,
but access can be arranged
- MECC will need to free up fiber for us, max 1 pair available
- We'll need standard fiber cabling, same as used elsewhere on the facility
I had a chat with Marcia yesterday (SER1 power) and she said she is still
working with Sven to find the best way to accomedate the extra breakout room.
I personally am hoping that the earlier suggestion (food at Euro Centre,
extra breakout room at Expo Foyer) will materialize, but ultimately
it's Marcia's call.
Jim/Chris, can you pls report back what came out of today's conf call?
Is this enough?
GJ
