[ietf79-tech] Meeting notes

Its a long story, but suffice it to say I finally got a usable
collection of VMs from IETF78 ready for downloading.

When I initially went to untar and fire up these puppies I found myself
blessed with VMs that were claimed to be not valid and the all too
familiar VM server error messages which do little to provide a hint of
what is the root cause. After amassing enough disk space to copy and
schlep numerous revisions of the monster files around, I was able to
figure out the we (I?) introduced some minor (yet consistent)
configuration file edits and file renaming issues. Once corrected and
loaded into an ESX server, the VMs came up minimal fuss. (The mgmt data
volume had a minor soft update error which fsck'ed cleanly without
intervention.)

You may download the revised tarballs from wejx.doit.wisc.edu using the
account "ietf" and our default pw. Options for accessing ietf78 files
include browsing to:

https://wejx.doit.wisc.edu/ietf/ietf78/

or grabbing the fixed VMs via https at:

https://wejx.doit.wisc.edu/ietf/ietf78/vmpost/ietf78-services.final-fixed-101006.tgz
https://wejx.doit.wisc.edu/ietf/ietf78/vmpost/ietf78-mgmt.final-fixed-101006.tgz

The NAC tarball is also there:

https://wejx.doit.wisc.edu/ietf/ietf78/ietf-nac-final-clean.tar.gz

scp is also an option :

scp -p
ietf at wejx.doit.wisc.edu:ietf/ietf78/vmpost/ietf78-services.final-fixed-101006.tgz
<local>

scp -p
ietf at wejx.doit.wisc.edu:ietf/ietf78/vmpost/ietf78-mgmt.final-fixed-101006.tgz
  <local>

Or just ssh ietf at wejx.doit.wisc.edu and help yourself.

Please let me know if you have problems or need assistance. And enjoy
filling your disks.  :-)
