Hi,

sorry for the slight delay; I needed some time off after the call; my
thoughts were elsewhere.

Please find my bad scriblings below and send corrections or space fillers
as necessary; voice quality sometimes wasn't tuned well for my
ISDN-quality different language tuned ears and addmitingly I cannot
read all my hand writing anymore. Was quite a bit this time.

Participants:
volunteers: bz, jim, chelliot, joel, wej(?), warren
Verilan: Lance, Rick, Nick
Comcast: Tony Tauber, JJ Brzozowoski

Jim:
 	- Nick, Marcia and Jim did a site visit Monday
 	- met with Fred Swan(?) from Comcast
 	- met with James?? - IT guy
 	- met with Jenifer - conference manager
 	- PSAV

 	- used to use comcast for guest rooms; switched to sth sat based
 	- comcast fiber+stuff decomissioned
 	- MDF and fiber in different places
 	- hopes Fred Swan, Comcast can extend fiber with Hilton
 	- Ciena(?) DWDM box worry
 		- > stick in "IETF" rack

Tony:
 	(update)
 	- confirmed fiber is there
 	- temporary racks installation

 	~Jim
 	~Lance

 	- Lenny ACK getting routers + long haul optics
 	- MM short range from Fred/Comcast

TODO: ACLs for IETF netblocks to Tony

(that was external)

Jim:	(internal) [ | Nick ]

Nick:	'have a lot of notes, busy with other cust.'

Jim:	meeting space
 	- bad: up to 9 IDFs
 	- good, will only use/need:
 	- 2nd floor: 3 IDFs
 	- 1st floor: 1 IDF (only 1/3rd of wing by us; unused
 				meeting room + someone else?)
 	- PSAV space <-- told:
 	- unpatching their copper, patching our switches, should not
 	  need to tunnel them.
 	  "simple takeover"
 	- onsite folks go through ? to turn off APs

Nick:	~ 12 8port Cisco to help out | Rick

Jim:	- single copper run to rooms; need lots of little switches

 	- right next to NOC -> secretariate
 	- Terminal room
 	- down the hall someone else, no inet needed, hotel tries to
           move them (?)

 	"NOC lovely"

Jim:	public space
 	- bizzar
 	- only 2 APs:
 		- bar "souther expressions", large space
 		- grab-n-go
 		- up in ceiling
 		- fundamentally agrreed to replace these
 		- copper runs to MDF
 	- 2 copper drops to large seeting room "living room area"(??)
 		- we will put APs in that area
 	- 2 more restaurants (down and top), no infrastructure
 		-> will not cover
 	- AT&T public connect; move over copper (?)

 	- guest rooms, complete takeover?
 		- James
 			- felt comfy, simple, useful+interesting, lack
 			  of detailed lower layer knowledge
 		- Jenifer
 			- 1 cable -> easy recovery
 			- paying 'damages' to each IETF guest on a 2h
 			  supotimal / day (old contract)

 		- James talked to (AT&T?) person "we" dealt with at
 		  Hilton SanFrisco
 			- guestrooms routing on each switch on each
floor; AP, and Ethernet per room
 			- not enough tech knowledge

 		- upcoming talk AT&T, Hilton, Jim

 		- "last possibility" "Emulate NAT gateway"
 			- can we on M7i? (Jim)
 			- should be Ok (Warren)

 		- Bob + Ray joined as well (???)

 		- clear confirmation from James to "make it happen"

 		- Joel: 1:1 NAT at worst, run out of state, 100f flows
 		  maybe, reduced capacity

 	- Hotel: worried about liability + guest service issues
 		- Bob + Ray + Barbara(?) calling in Hitol reps(?)
 			 - has helped in the past

 	- All on-site: "need a solution that will work"

 	- early next week -> updates, AT&T call
"how do we actually make it happen kind of call"

 	- Good news: each room has Ethernet to switch to MDF
 		- however: some switches seem daisy-chained
 		- Performance issues?
 		- Is L2-infrastructure clean?

 	- b/g wifi [[ sorry, VoIP &^%$#$%, I had packet loss ]]

[ more chatter on NAT and Junipers ]
