The MECC has existing wi-fi, which is the usual pay-for thing.
I've only seen the portal open page and have not tried it.
For the IETF, we power down the PoE-inserters for that setup.
We'll need to un-do that on wrapup on Friday anyway as this
obviously needs to be back up when we leave.
We could run something like a few WL330's in hotspot mode
(this means it will run as a client to the pay-for network,
and bgpsec folk will connect to the WL330 and share costs).
Alternatively, I can bring a 3G hotspot. I only made hotel reservations
till Friday, but I have no problem extending another day if
there is funding for the extra night ($104) as MG would not
be funding that.
So, we'll have (at least) 2 options.
I only arrive at MECC setup week wed evening, and I don't know if
the crew already disabled the existing network at that point.
Let me ask Sven for credentials, and can the first arrivals please
test the existing wifi before they kill it?
