Good day all!
Welcome to the IETF78 tech mailing list. This is the list for technical discussions regarding the network for the upcoming IETF meeting in Maastricht.
As it stands, the IETF is still in discussion with RIPE to have several member of the RIPE meeting team join us in Maastricht. The discussions are going very well, but no final decision has been made. None the less, I've added both the traditional IETF volunteers to the list as well as the potential RIPE folks.
Just so everyone knows, here's who's on the list:
Traditional IETF NOC
-----------------------------
Jim Martin
Karen O'Donoghue
Chris Elliott
Bill 'wej' Jensen
Bill Fenner
Randy Bush
Joel Jaeggli
Lucy Lynch
RIPE Meeting Ops Staff
---------------------------------
Brian Riddle
Razvan Oprea
Erik Romijn
Ben O'Hara
Menno Schepers
Darius Seroka
James Aldridge
Perhaps it might make sense to briefly introduce ourselves. Let me start:
I'm Jim Martin (jim at daedelus.com), and I've been involved with the IETF for something like 18 years now. I've been lucky to coordinate the IETF Volunteer NOC team for much of that time. My technical focus areas are IP Routing and IPv6, but I count myself a generalist. In my day job, I run the operations team for ISC, which includes F-Root.
Once we get the intros out of the way, I'll start throwing what background I have on Maastricht out to the list.
-Jim
