indeed, the alternatives were
  o rent from hotel
  o buy on street

we were told the hotel one would be faster.  but we ordered a wireless
printer and got wired.

one alternative is to ask our overly-kind host to quickly buy a wireless
laser printer this morning, we will reimburse of course, and we drop
that in for stephanie.  we could return the one to the hotel as it did
not meet spec as ordered.

the other alternative is we hack this one to meet her needs as much as
possible.

imiho, it is her choice.  but she should probably have coffee before
making such a major decision.
